The department of Mathematics is considered to be one of the prestigious departments of Brindaban Govt. College, Habiganj. In this department, B.Sc. (Honors) started in 2009-10 session under the National University. In 2017-18 session, Masters in Mathematics Program was opened by former Principal Prof. Md. Elias Hossain (Rtd). There are 135 seats in B.Sc. (Honors) and 50 seats in Master’s Program. The basic courses of the Honors and Master’s program covers the following subjects Calculus, Analytical Geometry, Ordinary Differential Equations, Computer Programming in FORTRAN, Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Programming, Topology and Functional Analysis, Hydrodynamics, Number Theory, Tensor Analysis, Lattice Theory, Differential and Integral Equations, Operational Research etc. There are one associate Professor, one Assistant professor and two lecturer post in this department. There is an outstanding computer Lab with twenty six computers and one multimedia projector in this department. The Seminar Library of the department is rich with thousands of books, papers etc. The department organizes study tour each year. The students are also known for their academic results and extracurricular activities.
